Packaging Spotlight 039: GANTZ II: Perfect Answer
Arashi Neener Neener
Arashi's Face Down single is set for release next week, and to help fans get through the last days of waiting, I thought now would be the perfect time to spotlight the packaging of New People Entertainment's edition of GANTZ II: Perfect Answer starring Kazunari Ninomiya (and Kenichi Matsuyama).

Though perhaps not as well plotted out as the first GANTZ film, it's still entertaining and even more action-packed. There are gunfights, swordfights, and fistfights from pretty much the beginning to the end. And the U.S. edition also includes a great extra feature with insights from Director Shinsuke Sato, as well as behind-the-scenes clips. Watching a winded Ninomiya leaning against a stool after carring Yuriko Yoshitaka is hella amusing.

Overall, the packaging is pretty minimal. There's only the Amaray case cover insert and the individual discs, but what there is, is done very well. The high contrast and almost monochromatic color scheme results in dramatic images that really fit with the mood of the movie.

The cover shot is really impressive - lots of drama, with the leads front and center looking pretty badass.

The back cover is a little busy for my taste, but at least New People gives us a ton of art.

I love the shot on the extras disc with MatsuKen and Nino.

Beautifully choreographed, memorable fight scenes make this two-hour movie fly by, so whether you're an Arashi fan or not, GANTZ II: Perfect Answer definitely deserves a spot on every action movie fan's shelf.
